Aleppo Trip Part V: The Citadel
Right in the center of Aleppo, sitting on a hill, The Citadel is one of the oldest and largest castles in the world.

The castle entrance.

There are no rules that say kids can’t climb up to the castle!

Women taking a stroll inside.

Nooks and crannies.

Once inside the castle…or in this case, outside.

The view of Aleppo from the Citadel.

Looking out from inside the entrance.

More images of Aleppo as I explored the city both on foot and from the car.

Aleppo Trip Part I: St. Simeon
One of the most beautiful, gritty, raw, and lively places to visit is Aleppo, Syria.
I was there in December of 09 through January of 10 where I spent New Years and My Birthday with family.
Not only are the people extremely hospitable, but Syria is home to some of the most famous ruins in the world like The Basillica of St. Simeon built around 400 AD.
St. Simeon is located about an hour and a half outside of Aleppo but it was well worth the drive!
