We love treating our clients to a day of fun when they come in for their session.   Here are a few people we had the chance to work with over the last couple of months.  Thank you all for making our days interesting!

George Fisher, a repeat client,  found me again after a ten year hiatus from the business.   He was just as much fun to work with this time around as he was ten years ago!  George, please don’t tell them about the “Vanie” from ten years ago.  Shhhh.

Occasionally, we have requests for Modeling ZED Card sessions.  We usually create four different looks for the back of the ZED Card.  Here is an example from Jose’s shoot.   Ladies check out those abs!

Jamie also needed a “body shot” for fitness.  As you can see, she really showcases her range in these photos.  Good luck Jamie!

Santino on the left reminds us of the “nice cop”  on Heroes.  Paul Vroom on the right looks like he just stepped out of an episode of Law & Order!

Derek is the third member of his family to do headshots with me!  His brother and dad are both past clients.   Thanks Brent for starting the trend and keeping the tradition.  We wish Derek all the luck, not that he needs it!

These two ladies have a way of seducing the viewer!  Krystal on the left is showing some strong attitude, while Tiwana on the right, exudes confidence.

This was the second time I had the chance to work with Liza.  She needed a re-shoot since she recently became a brunette.  In the past, she’s  gotten a lot of compliments from her last shoot as a blond (see our gallery), and I’m sure the compliments will continue!

Courtney, the gal with the amazing blond hair, was so quirky during our shoot, she really made it effortless for me.  Teena came in and did a friend session with her mom!  These sessions are always a blast and as a bonus, we give a generous discount!

Dana has such an amazing range.  She went from a very warm, funny character to a hard edged persona in no time.  Slumber party Dana?

This beautiful red head is Samantha.  Perfect for the CW!  Good luck Samantha!

David Chung is a perfect example of male clients who use facial hair to vary up their look.  Clean shaven, he easily pulls off the young dad, while with some scruff, he becomes the edgier heart breaker!

Watch out Hollywood, here comes Nikki.  Check out that range!  She can destroy you and be your best friend at the same time.

It’s always a fun day when I have clients that make me laugh.  I had the pleasure of working with these two in the same month!  Allen, a very talented comedian had me laughing so hard, I had to put the camera down. Kyle reminds me of Seth Rogan.   He was so easy to shoot, the day was over before it started!

Shannon is another one with incredible eyes.  She just completely captivates the camera and demands your attention.

Markeia has so much range she looks like two completely different people here.  The secret? Great talent and a great wig!

You can just tell from these photos that Kelly is energetic and full of fun!  She really allowed for her creativity to come through. Say hi to our friends in Santa Barbara Kelly!

Happy New Year!

We took a small break from headshots during the Holidays and we finally decided it was time to get back to action!

We’ve been busy with Pilot Season thanks to all the agents we work with.

First up is Rikin Vasani.  This handsome man can do it all and with a face like that why shouldn’t he?

Renato is actually a repeat, repeat client whose wife I have also had the pleasure of working with.  They are the kindest and most entertaining pair I know!

These next two gentlemen show a range of characters.  Joseph is one of those guys we can see on the next big CW show as the boy next door.  Anthony on the other hand, has that sexy New Yorker accent with a touch of bad boy.  Watch out Dexter!

Nicolas J. on the left has so much potential and was so easy to shoot that his Dad just couldn’t believe the session was over so quickly!  What can you do when you have so much talent?  The boy next door on the right is Justin, who came to us after his brother, Nate.  Both are equally talented.

This sexy gal is Daniela.  She knew exactly what she was looking for and we think her photos really show her vibrence!

Alberti Popaj is a man of many traits!  We had a fantastic and super fun day on the shoot and what a range!

This beautiful young gal is Keri!  We really love the range she was capable of showcasing which worked great with our environments.

This next pairing is Lawrence and Sara, both of whom where referred by the wonderful team at SFA!  Is it me or does Sara have piercing eyes!

Chuck Cobb is a riot!  He has such a great personality and we know will do great things!

This fine, young, innocent, blondy is Kate Yoder!  We just had to show off her beautiful glowing hair but it just did all the work for us!

Here we have the cooler, mysterious look with Sawyer, and the warmer glowing look from Katie.  With smiles like those they can’t do wrong!

We often get questions from our clients about changing their hairstyle between looks.  Nicole Pettis shows how that is not a problem at all…with a wig!  It is actually very common for a girl to wear her hair straight and curly, or for a guy to have some scruff and be clean shaven.  We usually have a little buffer time between looks to allow for such changes!

This lady with the piercing blue eyes is Lynne!  She got stopped by an agent during our shoot…hope it worked out in your favor Lynne.

Martha is another repeat client of ours.  Below is an example of what good talent and a little bit of lighting can do to change your marketing look!

This comedian is Kris Sharma.  Below is his funny shot next to his serious business man…talk about range.

Julie Clark reminds us of someone that could easily be on Desperate Housewives.  She has a great personality, is super talented, and how can you ignore those eyes?!

Jacquelyn was such a pleasure to work with.  Such an easy going gal and a great sport who braved the cold rainy weather that day.

Meet Drea Hoffman, another repeat client, originally referred by my dear friend and photographer Jasper Johal.  On this shoot we really covered a wide range and she was there with it every step of the way.  Here is just a small sample.

I had the opportunity to photography two of the cutest kids.  Grace Elizabeth is just a doll and her brother Ezra had the biggest personality!

Brooke Baumer, another repeat client really didn’t need much direction.  We’re a couple of old pros at this and it was a smooth ride all the way.

Those amazing eyes and great smile really made Kimberly Ann Jones’ expressions pop!  We know she will do well.

A lot has happened at Vanie Poyey Photography with traveling to Japan etc. and I am finally catching up on posting some new work.

We start off with Kaleigh Longmeyer, daughter of Noelle Longmeyer, who I also photographed for her real estate headshots.  Kaleigh is one of the cutest girls I’ve worked with in a long time!

Alongside Kaleigh is Paris Delgado, another very charismatic young man…if I can call him that.  Watch out girls this one is a heart-breaker in training!

Jonathan Godfrey knew exactly what he wanted when he came to me.  The images really show specific marketing looks because of his concise vision.

This very handsome boy here is  Grant Gelner.  Is it just me or does he look like he was born to be on the CW?

Byron Lane was the sweetest and was referred to me by my friend and fellow photographer, Suthi Picotte.  He was such a blast to work with and had great range!

Gregory was an absolute blast and reminded me of a young George Clooney!

Clementina was such a pleasure to work with.  She was easy going, full of energy and that gorgeous hair…makes you want red hair!

Claudia Choi is the pro!  Knows her market, knows what she wants, and knows how to give it with very little direction.  We had a great time on the shoot.  We wish you great luck Claudia!

These next two were so talented you can almost hear what they are saying through these images.  The beautiful blonde is Sarah Haworth and the edgy guy is Gordon Grey.

This striking British boy is Julian Graham.  Unfortunately we were asked for a re-shoot since his agent was not happy with the color of his shirt (being pink)…and apparently he was squinting.  I’m always conscientious of sensitivity to light and always ask if my client is squinting.  Although in this case we were told “no”, it turns out, that wasn’t so!  Folks, it’s always too late after the fact, but there is a fix to almost every problem in post.  Our solution was to change the color of his shirt and open his eyes a bit, and voila, pink becomes blue and eyes no longer squint!   We do have a strict re-shooting policy, especially regarding clothing and squinting (since I always ask).  When we agree on clothing during a photo shoot, I can’t justify a re-shoot if your agent doesn’t agree, only because I can’t read your agent’s mind if he/she is not present.  Our solution was not good enough for Julian…let us know your thoughts!

Patricia Chamroonrat is just filled with joy and spunk.  We had a great day with her all over town!

Marisa Vitta’s edgy and quirky attitude in these images say it all.

Todd Wilkerson is truly a hysterical person.   From his answering machine message to his witty humor on the scene, everything he did made us laugh!

Rebecca actually came to us all the way from New York.  She was in LA and sought me out to have her headshots done while in town!

Southey Blanton is a true gentleman.  He was so kind and easy going it really made the long day go by in a flash.  We wish you the best Southey!

We really loved Vanessa Huntoon’s style.  She could pull off everything from girl next door to edgy fashion diva.

Kira Davis, look at that range…need I say more?  Here she portrays the beautiful girl next door alongside the edgy bad girl.

This blonde siren is Nicole Sully.   She went from edgy vixen to the nice, commercial gal in no time at all!

Katherine Shearer is a complete beauty.  The best part is her Australian accent!

Those gorgeous blue eyes really shine with Mindy Montavon’s great personality.  She was just as easy as can be and a joy to get to know!

This beautiful, yet edgy gal is Lauren Howard.  Gents beware…

Jenny M. Rich was so much fun to work with.  Even though she’s a bit new, she knew exactly how to work the camera.
